Top 10 Maine Photographs

I traveled over 1,000 miles to Maine for the sole reason to photograph my favorite subject matter, nature. Over 1,000 photographs later, I think this blog post is completely appropriate and necessary.

Most photographs are taken in Acadia National Park or in the surrounding town of Bar Harbor Maine, on Mount Desert Island.

And for a side note, to all my fellow Pennsylvanians... if you are interested in traveling to a National Park that isn't too much out of your comfort zone, I would recommend traveling to Acadia National Park. I have been to Zion and Yosemite, but Acadia was different. It reminded me a lot of Pennsylvania because of the lush green landscape. Acadia, to me, was a version of PA if it located closer to the Atlantic.

10. George Washington Bridge in NY. Not quite Maine, I know, but it's not everyday I have my camera in lap when I'm traveling. Also, the underlining theme of a lot of the photographs I took in ME was to have the American flag somewhere in the photo.

9. Cadillac Mountain sunrise. Let's just say I didn't get up at 4 AM to photograph the sunrise so it wouldn't make it on my list.

8. In a lot of my photographs, I try to portray what it would be like to be a person living in certain surroundings and the emotion that they would've felt. Most of that work concept derives in my abandoned photography, so I rarely have the opportunity to 'photograph humans in their natural habitat' for lack of a better saying. This photograph was perfectly timed and echoes with the everyday life of the guys working on the lobster boat.

7. I just think the tree in this photograph is perfect, it does a nice job of using directional lines to guide your eye through this photograph.

6. Everything about this photograph is perfect. To the positioning of the tree, to the human shadow of the owner of the car in the foreground. Love, love, love.

5. This is from a hike around Jordan Pond. There are some pictures that I can see in my mind and think, that's a B&W photograph. This is a perfect example of that.

3. I stood with my tripod on the side of a road on a bridge for this picture. Thank god it turned out this sweet.

2. I usually edit my photographs, mostly because editing is one of my favorite processes in digital photography manipulation (mostly because I'm really good at it and can make anything a reality, really). So this is a rarity for me, other than a little contrasting, this picture isn't edited. Nature did all the work for me.
